Ordaos is seeking an experienced Senior AI Scientist to be a part of our ongoing mission to create bespoke mini-proteins to help drug hunters deliver life-saving treatments. Ordaōs is a human-enabled, machine-driven drug design company made up of interdisciplinary thinkers who are passionate about technology and biomedicine. We are hiring immediately.


We are looking for a curious and innovative Senior AI Scientist interested in working within a hybrid environment in New York City. Reporting to the Senior VP of Engineering, this team member will drive deep learning projects through close collaboration with industry leading experts to reshape, test, and extend our pipeline of generative modeling for drug discovery. This position will involve managing several projects using state-of-the-art AI techniques to work towards the success of our mission.

We are looking for individuals who are curious about innovation in drug discovery, agile in their approach to problem solving, and bold in the execution of their work.


Job Functions:

  • Leading engineering teams in the development and evaluation of ML models
  • Meeting and consulting with scientists requiring AI support as well as designing plans and solutions
  • Ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of results for projects
  • Developing algorithms and models to solve complex problems with biological data
  • Working as part of the broader team to identify long-term solutions that will improve the quality, speed and efficacy of current projects and programs
  • Contributing to the enhancement and extension of all our machine learning pipelines and environment
  • Keeping up to date with the state-of-the-art machine learning models and techniques
  • Presenting the latest research in deep learning and participate in discussion on how to implement these techniques
  • Contribute to building a culture that embraces scientific excellence and integrity with a sense of urgency and collaboration with key stakeholders

Requirements

Required:

  • MS +5 years of work experience or PhD in computer science, data science, biostatistics, mathematics, or related field
  • Expertise in developing new machine learning algorithms and tools
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior personnel
  • Strong fundamentals in problem solving, algorithm design, model building, and statistical analysis
  • Proficiency developing large scale models using modern deep learning packages (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage people if needed, within an environment with ever changing priorities
  • Comfort collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • Passion for applying machine learning to create products that improve the lives of others

Preferred:

  • 1 to 5 years of experience post PhD.
  • Experience building scalable end-to-end machine learning systems with cloud computing services (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Demonstrated interest in applying AI to health-related problems and data, via publications or projects
