Data Engineer

The Role 

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join the global Cloud Data Platform team at Schonfeld. The team is re-envisioning Schonfeld’s platform including the data-processing pipeline, research and back-testing infrastructure in the cloud. The platform is designed to allow PMs to analyze data, back test their strategies and deploy them to production seamlessly.                                                                                                                                                       

What you’ll do 

The Data Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing functionality within the Cloud Data Platform.  You will create new functionality within our data processing pipelines – which could be integrating new data formats, creating new analytic tools, or enhancing parallel compute capabilities.  You will work on POCs and investigate new technologies.  You will collaborate with Portfolio Managers as well as the data science and data ops teams to identify functionality and access gaps in loading data sets and ensure they are closed.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

• Hands-on experience with OO languages such as Java, Python, C++ etc.
• Ability to devise novel and innovative solutions to challenges
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work under pressure handling Level 3 support issues
• Highly skilled and analytical problem solver with logical thought processes and quantitative aptitude
• Strong ownership experience and a track record of delivering results
