The Data Scientist designs, develops and deploys ML/AI algorithms to analyze data and optimize team or organizational decision making.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and deploys ML/AI algorithms & works with developers to apply algorithms to production
  • Researches and analyzes data to find deep relations within data to be used in the ML/AI algorithms
  • Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement
  • Builds models to explore customer, programmer, web and mobile data
  • Works across multi-disciplinary teams to translate business needs into testable hypotheses and then design experiments to test said hypotheses
  • Collaborates with other members of the Data team to support investigation across a variety of topics

Requirements

Accreditations:

  • Advanced degree in data science, computer science or related field
  • Working knowledge in SQL-based technologies (e.g PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (e.g. MongoDB)
  • Working knowledge in machine learning techniques and algorithms (-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc)

Core Technical Skills:

  • Data science - Extracting business-focused insights from data using principles of statistics, data wrangling, software engineering, basic programming, etc.
  • Machine learning, AI, and algorithm design
  • Programming & model construction - Programming in languages for data science (Python, TensorFlow, C/C++, JavaScript, Pearl, MatLab, R)
  • Data analytics skills including data mining and prescriptive, predictive, descriptive and diagnostic analytics
  • Experience with data topics including data engineering, data cleansing, curation, harmonization and packaging, and data reporting visualization & dashboarding tools
  • Development and coding skills including: modular coding & pipeline automation, source code management, and development tools

Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:

  • Written and verbal communication
  • Stakeholder management
