Meet the team:

The Senior Staff Data Scientist with work with an incredible team of Biostatisticians, Data Scientists, Statistical Programmers, Clinical Data Managers, and Medical Writers. We have a fast-paced environment and are looking for dynamic people that want to work on an amazing life-changing technology.

 

Where you come in:

  • Participate in the development and improvement of data infrastructure for clinical studies and real-world data (e.g., EHR), and lead the research, prototyping and development of machine learning and AI models aligned with business needs.

  • Lead the statistical analysis planning and production activities for clinical studies. Activities include designing studies and endpoints, estimating sample sizes with power analysis, creating/reviewing statistical analysis plans, creating/reviewing tables, figures and listings, interpreting results, and addressing limitations in study design and/or statistical methods.

  • Provide review and input on clinical protocols, CRFs, and be responsible for the overall data integrity of the study as well as statistical analyses and interpretation of results for abstracts and manuscripts.

  • Utilize literature review as a research methodology to assist data science or statistical method development and analysis in support of clinical studies and RWE.

  • Provide leadership to junior data scientists and biostatisticians on the team.

  • Provide statistical consultation to R&D, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, medical science, and external parties.

What makes you successful:

  • Proficiency in statistical methods, application, and programming. Knowledge and experience in complex statistical methods will be highly valued.

  • Ability to think strategically and apply different methods to solve problems will be a significant asset.

  • Ability to work independently and lead the clinical data science or biostatistical project team with minimal oversight is required.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in advanced data science methods to explore the use of AI/ML for business impact will be highly valued.

  • A strong working knowledge and programming skills of SAS, R as well as SQL is required and knowledge of other programming languages such as Python will be highly valued.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Travel Required

  • 0 - 5%

Experience and Education

  • M.S. in biostatistics, statistics, data science or related field with 8+ years experience is required.

  • Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, data science or related field with 5+ years experience is preferred.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology industry will be highly valued.

Remote Workplace: Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available. Ask about our Flex workplace option.
