Nielsen Plan Optimize helps organizations to expand, optimize, segment and activate their customer data across all marketing channels and platforms. We have solutions that support advertisers, agencies, media owners and platforms with media planning, insight and activation.  We are looking for a Business Intelligence Data Analyst to join our diverse and fast paced team.  This is an incremental role for our team given our growth and for the right candidate gives them the opportunity to improve / develop how we drive growth through finance and data usage reports. 
ABOUT THE ROLE
Key to this role is the ability to clean and analyze often messy and disparate data, and to pull together advanced reports to identify patterns and trends in given markets to influence our sales approach and strategy.  Help to reduce friction in the sales process with more streamlined reporting to ensure salespeople are successful in their day-to-day activities and able to focus on sales.  Reporting into the global VP International Sales and working with the sales leadership and teams this individual needs to be a self starter.   We need a do-er who can problem solve, crunch and analyze numbers, but also convey findings to the appropriate people in a format that is easy for a non-technical audience to understand and action.   
Nielsen Planning & Activation works with all types of client globally : Agencies, Advertisers, Platforms & Media Owners 

Core focus

  • For NMC: Pulling monthly reporting from over 55+ global client platforms to understand trends by market, vertical and advertiser.  
  • Work with messy and disparate data 
  • Use Extract, Transform and Load data operations for consolidation of large datasets using tools like SQL or Python
  • Ability to categorize thousands of data lines to understand brands and verticals buying data 
  • Input financials by buying platform on a weekly & monthly basis
  • Improve & streamline monthly forecasting / pipeline management 
  • Coordination with Sales leaders to improve process and streamline 
  • Pull CRM data from Salesforce by product line for NMC/VisualDNA and the global Media Planning Portfolio to support forecasting and analysis.  

Experience

  • Master at excel: Ability to analyze data
  • Must: experience in Extract, Transform and Load data operations for consolidation of large datasets using tools like SQL or Python
  • Pipeline management Analytics & reporting Expertise 
  • Understanding of CRM and Database Software Communication, including the ability to transform the technical and complex into practical and easy to understand findings that anyone can understand
  • Team Player Proactive Self Starter Problem Solver 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze various platform revenue reports to build interpretation and reporting through excel or other tools 
  • Ongoing delivery, ownership and communication of detailed data analysis & reporting to the business & leadership team 
  • Proactively identify challenges in the data & solve 
  • Find commercial opportunities in the data by markets and verticals to lead a data driven approach to our sales strategy 
  • Work alongside sales leaders to define quarterly objectives, standardize business reporting and create dashboards 
  • Manage the Sales Operations process to enable sales team productivity
