Please be aware Co-op does not offer visa sponsorship for this opportunity

We’re looking for Senior BI (Business Intelligence) Developers to join us in Manchester to help us develop innovative data products that colleagues across Co-op can use to inform their decision-making. We’ll look to you to create dynamic BI reports and dashboards and robust reporting solutions that help colleagues to better understand their data. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way – working from the office 1-2 times per week (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

As a Senior BI Developer at Co-op, you’ll collaborate with our Engineering colleagues, and use your coding skills to build robust reporting and BI solutions; managing each task from start to finish. It’s so important that we provide colleagues with the means to understand performance and make data-driven decisions that provide value to our customers, member-owners, and communities – and you’ll play a key part in this!

What you’ll do

  • Build datasets, dashboards, and reports using Power BI and MicroStrategy – prioritising responsive design and providing a high quality UX
  • Manage the delivery of BI solutions from development through to deployment across Co-op
  • Utilise Databricks and Azure Data Factory to assist with ETL processes and create data pipelines
  • Construct and optimise data models within our BI environment

This role would suit people who have

  • Experience using MicroStrategy and Power BI to build large dashboards
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries and using Python for advanced data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience with modern ETL processes using Databricks and Azure Data Factory
  • Experience using Azure or other cloud platforms
  • A good understanding of MicroStrategy and Power BI security and compliance principles

Why Co-op?

As a Co-op colleague, we can offer you a competitive salary and great benefits package which includes 30% off Co-op branded products in our food stores (as well as other discounts on Co-op products and services). You’ll also get:

  • An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 with service) plus bank holidays
  • A pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • Access to a subsidised onsite gym (at our Manchester HQ)
  • Coaching and training to support your career development
  • Wagestream – a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it
  • YuLife – an app that rewards you for exercising with discounts and vouchers for your favourite brands
