Lyst is going through an exciting period of growth and we’re scaling fast! We’re seeking a Senior Data Analyst, to work with our Monetisation team and join us on this journey, to be instrumental in supporting monetisation growth and delivery of Lyst’s strategic company bet: Margin.

We’re looking for an experienced candidate with proven ability to manage both strategic and tactical endeavours, with a structured approach to a wide array of initiatives and planning. This is an analytical role and so we’re looking for someone with a strong analytical background, underpinned with commercial acumen and natural curiosity.

The Senior Data Analyst role will report into the Director, BI as part of the BI Chapter - but will sit within the Monetisation team working with the VP Monetisation. This teams’ work is heavily cross-functional and this role has high visibility, with stakeholders across the business.

This role will focus on delivering work in the following areas:

  • Own the analytical side of the problems the Monetisation team are trying to solve; including how to improve partner monetisation and deliver value to Lyst’s partner base and working collaboratively with the Manager, Senior Manager & VP to conclude on those problems.
  • Undertaking explorative analytical work as a jump start to wider model builds required for the inception of new-to-Lyst metrics, partner segments and benchmarking.
  • Conduct complex and intricate investigative reporting, modelling and threshold development of partner success work streams.
  • Engage with the Data & BI team to gather relevant data sets that are not immediately available in Looker and work with the central BI team & Analytics Engineering teams for implementation.
  • Undertaking opportunity sizing, scenario analysis and simulation/sensitive analysis over 12/24/36m horizon.
  • Creating and validating analytical methodologies to shape monetisation frameworks.
  • Improving data availability/access points in Looker, reporting/dashboard set up and framework visualisation.
  • Act as a connector between the Monetisation team and other analytical workstreams to leverage work already undertaken across the business and utilise for higher accuracy in focus areas.
  • Contribute to, and support the overarching Monetisation strategy by proactively finding opportunities for monetisation and margin levers through data analysis.
  • Run sensitivity/simulation analysis (over both 12M and 36M horizons).
  • Working very closely with the VP & Senior Manager to build frameworks, validate the execution method and refine parameters they set.
  • Clearly communicate actionable insights across all levels to inform monetisation efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years working within or aligned to a commercial team.
  • Studied a highly numerate degree and a background in statistics and statistical analysis, either through studies or demonstrable on-the-job experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and SQL, some experience in Python / R is desirable but not necessary.
  • Proficient using BI tools such as Looker or Tableau
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills in a commercial environment.
  • Proven experience in identifying commercially viable opportunities and scoping their relevance.
  • Highly autonomous and comfortable with accountability; experience working across all levels within an organisation.
  • Experience in analysing large, complex data sets and producing clear actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise problems in order to focus on the biggest issues
