HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Develop and conduct biomechanical and physiologic research protocols both in the lab and in the field.
  • Schedule research subjects based on lab testing needs.
  • Analyze biomechanical and physiologic data in Matlab or Python
  • Discuss quantitative and qualitative results across various departments internally.
  • Become comfortable learning and using various data collection tools such as accelerometers, metabolic devices and motion capture sensors
  • Become familiar with various cycling equipment design features and components.
  • Partner with prototypers and product developers to participate in the various stages of product development, including:
  • Product ideation
  • Quickly validating prototypes
  • Providing design iteration ideas based off test results.
  • An example of a project is quantifying changes in vibration seen at the handlebar in various conditions.

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

  • You’re naturally curious and love a challenge
  • Stellar academics – you’re currently enrolled in an engineering, math/physics, kinesiology, exercise science or other related discipline program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Familiarity working with large data sets in Matlab or Python
  • Must be comfortable digging into ambiguous problems with minimal guidance
  • Passion for cycling or other outdoor sports and activities
  • Bonus points for experience working with/conducting research on human subjects.

Internship Information

  • The internship runs for 4 months: September - December
  • Internship is part-time (10-20 hours) and paid.
  • We have a casual work environment, many dog bellies to rub, an endless supply of cereal and espresso, and you can ride the raddest bikes on earth!
