Sr. Data Engineer

IT Concepts is looking for an experienced Sr. Data Engineer to support our engagement with the Kessel Run program

IT Concepts is looking for a Sr. Data Engineer to remotely support our Air Force client. The ideal candidate must be comfortable coding in Python, Java, Javascript, Vue, React have worked with GIT CI development pipelines before, are comfortable working with databases such as Postgres (setting them up, configuring them, maintaining them), getting data from APIs to include REST and SOAP, message queues such as RabbitMQ, and/or event streams, have built Extract/Transform/Load pipelines and data repositories. Technologies like Vue, React, REST and Soap APIs, Postgres are things you should be familiar with, with the expectation that you've developed with at least one of them.

Requirements

• BS/BA; 7+ years of relevant experience
• High proficiency in SQL to include schema design, data definition, and advanced queries
• Experience with scripting languages for automating repetitive tasks
• Experience with creating automated data pipelines for complex systems
• Linux server management background
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with the ability to present technical data and approaches to both technical and nontechnical audiences

Desired

• Familiarity with creating ETL pipelines for gather data directly from databases such as Postgres, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and RabbitMQ.
• Understanding and developing front end in Vue, with the ability to migrate systems from Vue to React.
• Ability to work with a system of systems and make recommendation for both front end development and data engineering.
• Building out deployment pipelines in Git CI
• Maintain documentation in Docusaurus
• Understanding of Kafka and migrating RabbitMQ to Kafka in the future
• Ability to work in a virtual pair programming environment

Clearance requirements

• Ability to obtain Secret clearance
