• Be part of a growing team that is a cross-functional mix of Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Data Engineers
• Working on personalising the experience on DeepL to give the user the best experience on our platform
• Building and designing innovative Machine Learning models and algorithms aiming to tailor the user’s experience on our platforms
• Run A/B tests to quantify what impact your models have on user metrics and derive new hypothesis for future experiments

Your responsibilities

• Drive the Machine Learning development cycle for your models from end-to-end - from understand the underlaying data and business need, to building models and monitoring them in production
• Implement Python and SQL code to put your ideas into models
• Drive MLOps improvements and best practices to enable faster development and scaling, in strong collaborating with our Data Engineering team
• Communicate progress and present results of your experiments internally
• Consult with teams from Product to understand their mission, requirements and translate this into actionable modelling approaches
• Support the Data Science community in DeepL with mentoring, reviews of new technologies or methods, and hiring

• You have 4+ years professional experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Scientist or Engineer, ideally working with user data of a web product
• Solid knowledge of Python and SQL
• Experience with different ML packages and models in production is a must
• Experience in a cross functional collaborative environment for the development of machine learning products (for example Data Engineers, ML Engineers, Product Managers, etc)
• Well versed in statistics, in particular concepts in hypothesis testing or AB testing
• You have a Master’s degree or PHD in a quantitative subject like physics, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science or another field with a strong emphasis on quantitative analysis
• The ability to transmit information concisely and clearly - whether written, spoken or visually
• Practical experience with big data tools is a plus
