The Product Manager for CipherTrace's off-chain data strategy and acquisition will have overall ownership of CipherTrace's off-chain data strategy and roadmap, driving off-chain data collection prioritization, information architecture, and third-party data provider assessment and acquisition. They will quantify data impacts and initiative tradeoffs, play a key role in data structure and organization, work with first and third-party content feeds and metadata, and assist in optimizing in-house data collection efforts. They will also propose, review, and assist in negotiating agreements with third-party data providers, following Mastercard processes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to fully understand business strategy and identify off-chain data requirements in support of new and existing market offerings
  • Develop and prioritize data sourcing strategy to address data requirements
  • Maintain detailed understanding of existing data assets, become a subject matter expert on internal data assets
  • Continuously evaluate productization features and project list, prioritize and plan roadmaps for internal data assets
  • Drive and Influence cross-functional teams to execute on data asset improvement projects
  • Maintain compliance with global data privacy regulations
  • Build and expand marketplace knowledge to identify and build a pipeline of appropriate external sources of data that address business needs, accuracy and compliance requirements and cost effectiveness targets
  • Acquire required data via execution of data acquisition process, including vendor diligence, data evaluation, negotiation and contracting
  • Monitor ongoing quality and performance of data
  • Proactively manage complexities of changing relationships stemming from competitive or financial concerns to ensure long term access to critical data assets
  • Manage multiple files and associated contracts, seeking to maximize value, diversify supplier and customer risk and eliminate unnecessary duplication
  • Identify new data from new and existing suppliers and customers, and socialize, educate, and inform verticals and product management of potential value
  • Manage spend on existing and new sources of data per budget
  • Prepare monthly reports demonstrating achievement of objectives, highlighting risk and outlining revised plans

Requirements and Skills

  • At least 2+ years of product management related work experience in the following:
  • Prioritization of, ingestion, extraction, and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets of any size (Big Data is a plus) from a variety of sources
  • Research and management of partnerships with business data suppliers in support of sales, marketing, and product development strategiesThe harvest and use of information via public websites
  • You have demonstrated the ability to use data to drive decisions and back up assumptions and recommendations
  • You have demonstrated success building and executing product roadmaps aligned with business requirements and technology capabilities in global businesses
  • A strong understanding of the secondary data landscape and familiarity with how data is collected via different channelsFamiliarity with privacy and data localization and protection requirements 
  • The ability to quickly develop and apply business rules against a sample dataset to estimate quality and potential impact on the business is critical
  • Hands-on experience working with data integrations, SDKs, APIs, in the context of Public Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and other cloud-native technologies is a plus
