The Platform tribe’s mission is to enable the delivery of valuable experiences to our merchants. We do this by providing tools, systems and APIs that allow SumUppers to efficiently innovate, build and run our products and services at scale.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Platform tribe and help us drive the implementation of the next generation of our Data Platform, enabling all business areas to become autonomous and providing self-service tools for anyone's needs to generate value from data. What you will do as a Senior Technical Product Manager in the Platform Tribe

  • Work with engineering and analytics contributors to break down a big problem into pieces.
  • Contribute to the product vision, strategy and roadmap on behalf of the Data Platform team, and helping initiate projects
  • Prioritise, build and ship the most impactful features for our internal and external stakeholders as part of the Data Platform team
  • Create a roadmap for our Data Platform, based on our vision of a self-service, domain-driven architecture for data.
  • Create a collaborative culture between engineers, analytics and related stakeholders, breaking down silos and creating a shorter feedback loop along the way; act as an enabler for this culture, not the centraliser.

You will be great for this position if:

  • You're interested in solving problems that involve data and can be entailing the whole company
  • You have a very clear understanding of what a platform team does, and how are the main challenges that encompass providing such a platform to the whole organisation tackled.
  • You think about agile beyond the frameworks, how you can help create a truly agile environment and how to have engineering and analytics teams fully empowered and autonomous in their jobs.
  • You’ve worked in technical organisations and can make a case for buy versus build when necessary.
  • You can help maintain and publish our documentation, write meaningful changelogs and keep our roadmap up-to-date.
  • You have good written and spoken English skills and are comfortable collaborating with a remote team both synchronously and asynchronously.
  • You have 3+ years of experience as a product or program manager. A background with proven experience in engineering/data is required.

Why you should join SumUp

  • We’re a truly global team of 2000+ people from 60+ countries, spread across 3 continents.
  • We get together regularly for breakfasts, team events, office parties and sports.
  • You’ll receive a budget for attending conferences and external training.
  • We offer a corporate pension scheme, 28 days’ paid leave, free German and yoga classes, subsidised Urban Sports Club membership and other great benefits.
  • We offer visa and relocation support for you, your family and even your pets.
  • You’ll be based in the heart of Berlin, one of Europe’s leading tech hubs and most vibrant cities.
  • You’ll participate in weekly Lunch and Learn sessions, where ideas are shared and discussed over company-sponsored lunch.
  • You’ll attend global offsites and/or hackathons.
