Data Scientist

The Data Science team in Rackspace is formed by experts in the extraction of meaning and interpretation from data. This unique skill set requires ample knowledge of data engineering, the aid of statistical methods and machinery, but largely relies on analytical brain power. In Rackspace we have an immense amount of raw data which can rarely be utilized reliably and here is where the technical experts collect, clean, and validate their data driving actions out of it. The ability to scale, automate and think out of the box to solve complex business problems define the skills that we are looking for.
We are looking for a data scientist that will help us discover the information hidden in vast amounts of data, and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better products. Your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building Machine learning models that impact the key areas of the business. This position will require expertise on NLP, CI/CD, forecasting models, cloud computing, Kubernetes and Python.
This position is in charge of the phase 2 of development for Rackspace Natural Language Processing Machine Learning model (NLP) and to work on the Continuous Improvement / Continuous development (CI/CD) platform for the deployment of Machine Learning and AI projects automatically into production.

• Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
• Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
• Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
• Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
