Senior Software Engineer - Backend - Experimentation

Location Details: Remote, India

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

At GoDaddy, we are dedicated to leveraging Data, AI, and Experimentation to drive our product development. Our experimentation and signals processing platforms oversee comprehensive analytics for GoDaddy apps and their users. These platforms can collect over +1B events quickly and conduct numerous A/B/x and Multi-arm bandit tests across all applications. This enables us to enhance both client and server-side customer experiences, from simple UI modifications to complex pricing services. Supported by scalable systems and advanced statistical techniques, our platforms continuously gather customer and product data, facilitating rapid learning and product improvement to meet the needs of the customers.

As a Senior Software Engineer in this team, you will play a key role in building and operating top-tier service capabilities that form the backbone of GoDaddy’s product evolution and customer understanding. Here are some of the exciting technical challenges you may encounter:

• We are the go-to platform for connecting and processing customer events and service events to understand our customers
• We own and operate an Experimentation platform that surpasses some of the industry-leading Experimentation products
• The volume of signals we collect has doubled in the last year and continues to grow. This pushes our engineering skills to cost-effectively and efficiently convert data into decisions and customer delight
• Test-and-learn is ingrained in GoDaddy’s culture. We experiment on all feature rollouts, supporting experiments from UX improvements to engaging prompts

What You’ll Get to Do…

• Collaborate with Engineers within and across teams to define, design, develop platform services
• Work closely with different Principal Engineers to develop high-quality architectural solutions, prioritising availability, scalability, and API design
• Join forces with the team to rapidly and incrementally deliver on the OKR plan
• Improve our on-call rotation process by incorporating production issue investigation and post-mortems

Your Experience Should Include…

• 5+ years of Software Development experience building scalable platforms
• Proven expertise in crafting and developing platforms or libraries
• A deep understanding of modern full-stack architecture principles
• Experience operating on high-scale production web services using modern frameworks across multiple technology stacks
• A dedication to automation combined with a focus on putting the customer first
• Strong coding and code review skills
• Desire to learn business and technical vision, and a willingness to express and discuss ideas

You Might Also Have…

• Experience building services on Cloud infrastructure
• 2+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services
• Experience working with data pipelines, data warehousing, and analytics tools (Spark, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, Redshift)
• Experience building teams from the ground up, attracting world-class Software Development Engineers
