D&A Technical Product Development Intern  

Location Requirements: This role is Remote, and you will work hours based on a Central Time schedule.

 

Your role on the team:

The Product Intern reports to the Group Product Manager for D&A and works closely with Development, Architecture, UX Design, Customer Success, and Partners to deliver solutions that simplify the daily work life of the front line of education. The primary focus for this role is supporting the product management and development teams to help automate manual processes, troubleshoot and triage and sometime remediate incoming bugs, and assist in requirements gathering for our Data & Analytics products.  This role provides a unique learning experience to an aspiring professional through its direct support of Frontline's high-performing product organization.

You can expect to:

  • Automate manual processes (primarily focused on our file upload and transfer systems)
  • Troubleshoot, triage, and remediate incoming bugs reported by customers, QA, customer success, or other stakeholders
  • Work with QA to build automated tests and unit tests
  • Manage product development backlogs
  • Document product requirements and process
  • Perform research and analysis on data best practices
  • Test product features
  • Work with QA to develop test cases
  • Engage product users for feedback and usage analysis
  • Ad-hoc projects, as needed

This internship will run for approximately 15 weeks from early June into August.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Passionate about solving customer problems (the big ones and the small ones).
  • A fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoy fast paced work environments.
  • An ability to bridge communication between technical and non-technical extended team members.
  • Understanding of general software and systems development practices.
  • Proven ability to ramp up quickly on new technologies.
  • Self-directed and operate with urgency, focus, and discipline.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally

This role requires:

  • Ability to work 35 hours/5 days per week for the duration of the internship
  • Ability to code in modern web and data development frameworks (Python, React, SQL, etc)
  • 1+ years working with software solutions
  • Attending an educational institution to obtain a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a Business, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to translate market needs into Epics, User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
  • K12 experience highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
