The Marketing Data Analyst will be responsible for visualizing and analyzing collected marketing funnel metrics and business data to help the business measure, understand, and predict user behavior and market trends across the SmartBear portfolio of products. You will partner closely with Growth Marketing teammates, and others across the Marketing and Business Intelligence teams to develop compelling data visualizations, dashboards and reporting in Tableau, and be able to tell a story through the data. You will also assist in ad-hoc marketing analysis requests including campaign performance, regional go-to-market performance and executive roll-up reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and help to standardize marketing funnel reporting for strategic analysis and internal review
- Work with Business Intelligence colleagues in setting up numerous dashboards for Marketing in Tableau
- Combine numerous data sets and ensure data integrity
- Dig into critical marketing metrics to understand trends, and identify actionable insights
- Work closely with Growth Marketing Managers to forecast funnel metrics by product, and adjust those goals as needed
- Support ongoing analysis of marketing performance and effectiveness
- Identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Develop and communicate strong opinions about best practices in Analytics
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field
- 2-4 years of experience working in an analytics or engineering capacity with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with SQL
- Demonstrated skills using Python and R, or at minimum interest in learning & developing these skills
- Skills in developing compelling data visualizations, dashboards and reporting in Tableau, Sisense, Power BI or other data visualization software
- Self-starter who takes initiative and is proactive and able to prioritize multiple projects involving various stakeholders by meeting deadlines and proactively communicating status updates.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to work collaboratively, synthesize data and present actionable insights to cross-functional stakeholders
