Data Engineering Team Lead

One of our greatest challenges is to bring huge amounts of traffic data together with customer data in order to enable dozens of analysts and hundreds of internal stakeholders to better understand our customers needs and usage.

The Biz Data Engineering team (BDE) was tasked with the mission of addressing this challenge and creating the platform that brings traffic data and business data together and creates AppsFlyer data warehouse

We are looking for a team lead for our BDE team.

We are looking for an experienced manager with good leadership and organizational skills as well as a hands-on developer who has experience working with Spark, Airflow, Python/Scala and the big data ecosystem, especially over AWS platform (S3, Athena, Kinesis, SQS).
As a mentor, you will also support the company's analysts. 

What You’ll Do

• Be part of an exciting transition to cutting-edge technology while leading an excellent team.
• Develop and design end-to-end ELT and ETL, which include data ingestion and transformation logic, involving different data sources.
• Improve the scalability and performance of existing data pipelines.
• Nurture, grow and mentor a team of data engineers and support their professional and personal development.
• Mentor, advise, and work collaboratively within the Business Data and Development group, with other development teams, and with all other business teams of the company
• Continuously learn and follow new technologies both for personal growth and to ensure we are making the most informed technology choices possible

What You Have

• At least 5 years of engineering experience (preferably in Big Data environments)
• At least 2 years of experience with Spark and its ecosystem.
• At least 1 year of engineering management experience
• Deep familiarity with SQL, data modeling, and databases
• Experience with public cloud environments (AWS will be a bonus) and Hadoop ecosystem.
• Proficiency with Scala, Java or Python
• Experience in an agile development methodology, CI/CD, Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, Airflow
• Positive attitude and willingness to take ownership
• Ability to see the "big picture" and to understand the business side of things
