About Team & About Role:

Our team builds products to address Rubrik's holistic ransomware response strategy. We make it easier and faster to recover from security attacks while providing greater intelligence on how an incident impacted enterprises' global applications and data.
Our engineers are self-starters, driven and can manage themselves. We believe in giving engineers responsibility, not tasks.

  • You will be part of a dynamic team working on some of the most challenging problems in building large-scale systems. This team is at the forefront of Rubrik’s vision and strategy of becoming a data security company. 
  • You will develop and deploy ML models to detect anomalies in customer’s data.
  • You will actively look for opportunities to apply new machine learning techniques to data security problems.
  • You will create experiments and prototype implementation of machine learning models that apply to product problems, and work with engineers to productionalize the models.
  • You will provide thought leadership, set agenda, identity problems, build consensus, initiate projects and lead the execution from start to finish

Required:

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in developing, deploying, iterating, validating and maintaining ML models.
  • 2+ years of experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java, including ML related libraries (TensorFlow, MXNext, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc)
  • 2+ years in a lead applied scientist role.
  • Strong theory/algorithmic background and understanding on how to apply advanced algorithms to solve real world problems.
  • Superb verbal and written communication and presentation skills and able to convey rigorous concepts to non-experts.

Preferred:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience after PhD in applying ML techniques to solve complex real world problems
  • Experiences in big data/ETL technologies, e.g, Hive, Spark, Databricks etc.
  • Experiences in workflow management (e.g, Apache Airflow) and creating production ready machine learning components.
