Data Architect | Full-time contract | Athens - GR

Your daily work routine will include:

• Work closely with business analysts to understand the business requirements;
• Design the architecture of the big data platform in order to meet functional and non-functional requirements;
• Assess and propose technologies that could be used for the implementation;
• Manage the data development team;
• Create complex Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes;
• Integrate data from various sources following big data integration techniques;
• Monitoring performance and advising any necessary infrastructure changes;
• Defining data retention policies;
• Develop and update technical documentation.

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field;

• 5+ years of experience as Data Engineer developing complex big data solutions;

• Expertise in big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, YARN and Hive;

• Proven experience with Python, SQL programming languages;

• Proven experience with RDBMS systems i.e. PostgreSQL;

• Proven experience with Scala / Java and graph databases (i.e., Neo4j);

• Team player with excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills;

• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative;

• Understanding of the Agile Software Development methodology and test driven development (TDD);

• Excellent command of English both written and spoken (Β2 or higher);

• Flexibility for travelling and able to work in an international and multi-cultural environment.
