Business Intelligence Expert with Business Objects & Data modelling expertise

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:
- Creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes / Data Lakehouses).
- Designing architectures both on the cloud and on premises (whether hosting or cloud on-premises) or combination of both (hybrid).
- Gathering business intelligence requirements.
- Design and development of online analytical data processing (OLAP).
- Designing, testing and implementation of ETL processes.
- Data virtualization.
- Data modelling.
- Design and development of integrated data quality processes.
- Business intelligence analysis, design and development of applications.
- Design and development of reporting applications.
- Physical DB design.
- DB performance analysis.
- Design of Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes.
- Review of Information System Architecture (BI part).
- Data analytics and data mining.
- Elaboration of test programs.
- Writing of technical documentation and user manuals.
- Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system.
- Participation in meetings with other project teams.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks: 
- Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture.
- Excellent knowledge of relational database systems applied to data warehouse.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL.
- Excellent knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools.
- Excellent knowledge of modelling tools.
- Knowledge of near real time data warehousing and/or change data capture technologies.
- Ability to work with a high degree of rigour and method and, more specifically, to follow naming conventions and coding standards.
- Very strong expertise in ETL preferably with SAP BODS.
- Strong expertise in data analysis, data quality and data control frameworks using BI tools.
- Strong expertise in data warehouse, ORACLE RDBMS & PL/SQL.
- Strong expertise in Business Intelligence software, preferably SAP Business Objects and Qlik Sense.
- Working experience as business intelligence analyst would be an asset.
Optional certifications:
- Microsoft Data Analyst Associate
- Amazon Certified Data Analytics Speciality
- Business Intelligence Analyst
- Ability to work efficiently and fast within an environment using SAP BO, Oracle, PL/SQL.
- Ability to give business and technical presentations.
- Ability to apply high quality standards.
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in Data and Business Intelligence.
- Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Analysis and problem solving skills.
- Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
- Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills.
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, 
candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
- Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
- Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
- Excellent Team Player;
- Ability to understand, speak and write English C1 will be an advantage;

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
- at least 3 years of specific expertise in Business Objects (min. competence level 5)
- at least 3 years of specific expertise in Data modelling (min. competence level 5).
