Graduate Data Engineer
London
Department overview:
As a Graduate Data Engineer, the successful candidate will work within the Data Engineering team and gain an appreciation of the full development lifecycle through design, development and maintenance of the data processing platform.
They will be required to fit into a highly skilled team and gain experience through day-to-day responsibilities, structured training and continuous learning. As a valued member of the team, they will be expected to provide insight and contribute ideas to the successful running of our business.
What you’ll be doing:
The successful candidate will be eager to learn new tools & techniques and will have an interest in data engineering and how this can inform business strategy and performance. A comprehensive understanding of the computer programming principles is required.
Based in our London offices, the team provides Business Intelligence, Data Insights and Data Science services, for various global business units associated with Sony PlayStation.
What we are looking for:
Essential skills:
- Minimum 2:1 Degree in a Computing/IT/Mathematical discipline
- Previous experience/knowledge of Programming Languages
- Interpersonal skills including presentation, negotiating, conflict resolution, etc
- Strong communication skillsets
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving ability
- Eager to learn
- Must have eligibility to work in the UK and travel to US and Japan
- English: Fluent
Preferable skills:
- Relevant Work Experience or extra-curricular activities
- A good understanding of SQL/UNIX/Cloud computing
- Appreciation of emerging and latest technologies
- An Interest in the Gaming Industry
