We are looking for a savvy Data Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts. You will be responsible for expanding and optimising our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimising data flow and collection for cross functional teams.You will help support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. You should be be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimising or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns
  • Organising and transforming information into comprehensible structures
  • Using data to predict trends in the customer base and the consumer population as a whole
  • Performing statistical analysis of data
  • Using tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs
  • Preparing reports and presenting these to management or clients
  • Identifying and recommending new ways to save money by streamlining business processes
  • Monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data
  • Communicating with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements

Requirements

  • Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem specifically RedShift and RDS
  • Communication skills, especially explaining technical concepts to non-technical business leaders
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, research-oriented team with concurrent projects
  • The ability to pay attention to detail when working with data in order to make accurate conclusions and predictions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with shareholders
  • A solid understanding of data sources, data organisation and storage
  • Strong IT and mathematical skills
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of relevant relational databases
