Data Strategy Project Manager

In Smartnews, a data strategy is one of key business drivers to accelerate our news aggregation service, digital advertising business, and new business developments. Since Smartnews has tens millions of active users for both Japan & the United States, our Big Data has huge potential to exponentially grow at the size of businesses. Now our CSO's Office sets up a company-wide data strategy and executes strategic data acquisition & utilization projects in every business segment.

This position, Data Strategy Project Manager is required to drive strategic data projects & monetize the data to make further business impacts to the company. The position needs combined high-level strategic skills, which are corporate planning, digital business domain knowledge, Product UX research, project management, and data analytics & science experience. Our CSO's Office strongly welcomes people who have those skills & strong passion to lead the company success.

Description:

• Project Management
  • Lead multiple data acquisition & utilization projects together with the News & Digital Ads Business/Product team for US, JP.
• Data Strategy & Operation Planning
  • Design Data Utilization Strategy & Estimate Business Impacts.
  • Set up operation plans & organization to execute
• Product Requirement Definition
  • Write Product Requirement Definition & Support to build product development teams with product leaders.

Requirements

Minimum Requirement (必須要件）

• At least 3 years of experience working in a strategy consulting firm or corporate/business strategy planning or internal project management in the Internet Service Companies.
• Good communication skills and working experiences with people from different countries and backgrounds.
• Experience in product management for more than six months with product engineers.
• 3 years experience of business data analytics or data science or data management.
• Deep Business Domain knowledge about App Business & Digital Ads.
• Logical Thinking & Documentation
• Language
  • Japanese: Business level
  • English: Business level

Preferred Requirement (歓迎要件）

• Experience living abroad or working with members of an overseas office or company.
• Skills of Google Docs/Spreadsheets/Presentations.
