Risk Data Analyst

We’re Melio, a TLV-based startup on a mission to keep small businesses in business. Our online payment solution enables small businesses in the US to pay their bills in more efficient ways that improve their finances and free them up to focus more on managing the business they love.

Backed by top-tier VCs, we have a unique approach to small business payments and aim to make B2B payments as simple and easy as peer-to-peer payment apps. We’re growing fast and looking for enthusiastic team players.

As a Risk Data Analyst you’d be joining the team working behind the scenes to protect Melio from bad actors; managing the risks that might have adverse impacts on our product, financials and our ability to meet client needs.  

This includes not only ‘classic fraud’, but also compliance and anti-money laundering initiatives. You’d also be evaluating the verticals we work with to understand their unique profiles and exposures.   

How you’ll make an impact

System design and maintenance: 

• Perform Risk investigations and analyses
• Understand system vulnerabilities and gaps
• Draw conclusions based on multiple data set and user behavior
• Work with R&D to design decisions and system logic 
• Provide data-driven analytical insights
• Research and monitoring our system rules and features

Day to day risk monitoring:

• Perform hands-on risk analysis and provide insights
• Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment
• Collaborate with other team members to effectively analyze and present data
• Monitor internal and external data points that may affect the risk level of a decision

What we would love to see

• 1-3  years of experience in research and analysis 
• Solid knowledge of SQL or a similar database languages to review data at scale
• Solid analytical skills, fast learner, problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience with Python - an advantage
