About Us

Across the FT Group, our people are united by a mission to deliver world-class information, news and services to our global audiences. We're a digital-first organisation made up of journalists, technologists, product managers, event planners, strategists, commercial and finance experts, marketing and communications specialists - and much more. Our strength is in our employees.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace

At the FT, we aim for employees across all regions to have a voice so that diverse perspectives are heard and valued. We believe that a supportive workplace is one where employees feel they can be themselves at work and have the flexibility they need to meet their personal needs. We'll continue to remove barriers for all, and in particular barriers facing employees from underrepresented groups.

The FT’s Enterprise business

The FT has established commercial relationships with over 5000 corporate, government and education customers globally. These customers pay for teams of people to have access to FT’s journalism on any of 60 media platforms. Over 650,000 people at work or study now benefit from this. Enterprise customers are instrumental to the FT’s global growth strategy. This team, which we call B2B, is also responsible for the licensing of the FT’s content through a variety of means, including syndication agreements with other publishers.

This highly successful business has a consistent track record of delivering double-digit revenue growth and impressive margins. The next chapter of success for the B2B business will involve continued growth of the core business plus accelerated growth through significant investment in new products and services. Evolving from a single- to a multi-product organisation will require fit-for-purpose systems, processes and an ever more need to provide business intelligence and customer insight to inform and optimise strategic and commercial decision-making. As well as a high degree of coordination and cooperation across B2B teams and other FT divisions.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Operations Director in B2B, this newly created role overseeing and managing a team with the potential to grow,  currently including audience development, data stewardship, database management and commercial/revenue analysis. Currently, these roles are split across the department and they will form part of the new B2B Data Insights team led by the incoming Head of B2B Data Insights.

This role owns our B2B data strategy, working closely with the B2B Leadership Team to create a departmental vision for how our data should be reported and analysed to support the B2B growth strategy. This encompasses responsibility for all data used across the department and the application of that information as management reporting, self-service analytics, revenue analytics and departmental business intelligence.

The role will require close liaison with the FT’s central tech and data teams and is also outward-looking to ensure that our data set-up is optimal and takes advantage of all available sources and technology across FT. The maintenance of data hygiene, quality and actionability should be central to your strategy as well as ensuring that manual processes are minimised in favour of automation wherever possible.

The role should also seek to develop B2B's reputation for data excellence within the organisation in order to build stronger collaboration and shared standards, acting as an evangelist for all things FT data. This will involve close liaison with other data leaders across the FT and consultation with other departments to share knowledge, build consensus around best practices and ensure strong strategic coherence across the broader organisation.
