As a Mid-Level BI Developer, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into insights that drive business decisions. You will use your expertise in visualization platforms, ETL processes, SQL, and data warehouse management to create and maintain business intelligence solutions. You will also lead meetings, ensure 508 compliance, and collaborate effectively with teams.Responsibilities:
- Visualization Platforms: Utilize Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau to create compelling business intelligence visualizations.
- ETL: Develop and maintain ETL jobs using Microsoft SSIS and Hitachi Pentaho to extract, transform, and load data from various sources. Deliverables: ETL Jobs.
- SQL: Write complex queries and stored procedures in T-SQL, focusing on permissioning concepts, indexing, and data relationships between tabular data structures. Create data dictionaries and other relevant documentation. Deliverables: Stored Procedures, Data Dictionaries, and Other Pertinent Documentation.
- Analysis: Analyze requirements or existing systems, and make recommendations on designing, modeling, or organizing new database schemas to support visualizations. Deliverables: Schemas.
- Data Warehouse Management: Manage the organization's data warehouse by creating, organizing, and documenting all applicable data relationships and views.
- Lead Meetings: Lead meetings such as the Business Intelligence Working Group to educate staff on new developments or features in the BI space. Deliverables: Meeting Agendas, Demos.
- 508 Compliance: Design visualizations that meet U.S. 508 Compliance standards and modify existing visualizations to comply with these standards. Deliverables: Schemas.
- Communication Skills / Collaboration: Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teams to iterate on ideas beneficial to the institute and development teams, providing feasibility analysis.
- Troubleshooting / Analysis: Troubleshoot complex technical issues using tools to debug and analyze data.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in using visualization platforms such as Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, AWS QuickSight or Tableau.
- Experience with ETL solutions like Microsoft SSIS, Hitachi Pentaho or custom ETL development using services such as AWS Glue and Athena.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries and stored procedures in T-SQL.
- Ability to create data dictionaries and other relevant documentation.
- Experience in analyzing requirements and designing new database schemas.
- Proven ability to manage data warehouses.
- Familiarity with U.S. 508 Compliance standards for data visualization.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
Salary Ranges: $100,000 - 180,000
