Milliman’s Health Research Team (HRT) seeks a Business Analyst to work under the direct supervision of the Manager, Health Data Analytics to streamline and support business operations and analytics. This position plays a critical role in advancing the financial operations and business data analytics of the HRT.  The successful candidate will:

  1. Partner with other HRT professionals to build and maintain reporting tools (such as dashboards) to track and summarize data
  2. Support consulting practices by researching and answering a wide variety of data and analytics questions
  3. Enhance our financial operations and the subsequent reporting

Primary duties include but are not limited to design, optimize and maintain system processes; report on common sources of technical issues or questions; synthesize data into digestible information; and make informed recommendations to the business.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain and enhance current data sets, reports and Excel workbooks using technical expertise
  • Develop Business Intelligence reporting and dashboards utilizing large sets of claims and enrollment data
  • Meet with stakeholders and users of report/dashboards to discuss further developments and new models
  • Assist in answering help desk support tickets related to the data, reporting, and BI tools
  • Create meaningful and trusting relationships with business stakeholders by capturing their requests and making informed recommendations
  • Communicate progress, status, issues, decisions on a regular cadence
  • Stay vigilant for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and deliver better value to the business

To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications:

Required Professional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required with a preferred area of study in the following or a related field: Analytics, Statistics, or Computer Science
  • Intermediate or higher knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat
  • Visual acuity to prepare, read, interpret, and analyze detailed printed and electronic data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Excel and macro building skills
  • Experience with PowerBI, or similar BI platform
  • Exposure to coding languages, such as Pythons, SQL, or SAS

Location

This a remote position.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $50,000 to $100,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
