An exciting opportunity has arisen in our high-profile data science team. We are looking for a Data Scientist to help craft the future of Commercial Lines insurance at Aviva through innovative data science.

The UK team is recognised as a centre of excellence in our Global Data Science Practice – providing new data-driven insights that strengthen decision making across the Aviva Group.

A bit about the job:

The role will specially focus on developing solutions to transform performance and efficiency of our Commercial Lines business by automating processes and developing decision support tools. You will be looking for creative and innovative ways we can utilise our extensive data assets together with the latest programming techniques to help digitise, automate, and simplify the business.

You will also bring your solutions to life by embedding them into existing and new end user applications and contributing to the full rollout, working closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. This is a truly unique role where you will be integral to projects from start to finish.

As part of a team, you will be encouraged to actively collaborate and knowledge share helping to push solutions forward as well as develop both yourself and others.

You will be a proficient statistical programmer but have the ability to communicate and translate to a non-technical business audience. Experience of leveraging data science techniques to solve business problems would be beneficial.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Solid programming language experience such as Python, R, SQL or similar.
• Analytical mindset and creative thinker/problem solver.
• Organised self-starter, with drive and commitment.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present to non-technical audiences.
• Experience of delivering through a project lifecycle is ideal.

• Salary Cira £35,000 (location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
