Compensation includes a base salary of $70,700.00 - $106,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Automotive is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst II to join our Product & Technology team in Atlanta, GA.  As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be a pivotal member of our Analytics & Reporting team, working to establish a data driven approach to support strategy, financial and operations management.

The Business Intelligence Analyst II role will primarily focus on supporting our Risk & Security and Enterprise Technology Operations stakeholders, working with our lead and senior analysts, but may support other priorities as business needs require.

The successful Business Intelligence Analyst II will have exceptional hands-on experience working with, visualizing and interpreting data; data modeling; and working with peers and boundary partners in the Technology ecosystem to continually refine and improve processes and knowledge.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities

Collaborate:

  • Collaborates and supports cross-functional teams within the organization to make data-driven business decisions aimed at growth / business optimization.

Develop analytic solutions:

  • Builds and delivers recurring reports and dashboards to meet stakeholder needs. 
  • Understands the business and insights that are important to stakeholders.  
  • Designs reports and dashboards that visually present the data in ways that enable the findings to be easily understood even by non-analytical audiences. 

Support the management of analytics systems and tools:

  • Supports the maintenance of reporting capabilities by performing regular metric and query audits as well as ad hoc analysis.  
  • Validates the data in our reporting systems to ensure its accuracy and to align on business definitions.  
  • Documents the metrics included in each report and their queries and data sources.
  • Supports the application of natural language generation technology to generate foundational insights for reports and dashboards, including initial analyses required for manual validation.
  • Maintain reporting assets in a centralized location to enable organization-wide self-service and reduce redundancy.

Learning analytics capability and new technologies:

  • Applies accepted methods and tools to identify, gather, develop and analyze appropriate datasets.  
  • Must be able to learn and use analytics and other relevant technologies (e.g. SQL-based databases, data visualization software, etc.).  
  • Supports Analytics Leads or other leaders for company initiatives/projects to help drive execution according to project milestones and timelines.
  • Able to perform the duties above working closely with manager or under the guidance of analytics or stakeholder leaders.
  • Works with manager and direct line of leadership to understand priorities, must be able to deliver against business goals working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Who You Are 

Minimum

Tool requirements:

  • 2+ years experience with the following or related tools
  • Analytics platforms like Power BI and Snowflake 
  • Microsoft Office Suite (specifically intermediate Excel proficiency)

Skill sets required:

  • 2+ years experience in the following or related areas
  • Intermediate Excel skills including formulas, graphs
  • Basic SQL Programming skill
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of data and complex questions into clear analyses and actionable findings
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Preferred: Experience with report design and visual representation of insights
  • Preferred: Experience in managing data lineage of complex reports with multiple data sources
  • Preferred: Previous experience working with machine learning or automation, especially related to anomaly detection, setting thresholds, or natural language generation

Soft skills required:

  • A self-motivated approach which includes an appetite to improve results and endless intellectual curiosity, desire to continuously learn about the fast-changing digital and automotive landscape
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize in a deadline-driven atmosphere with evolving priorities. Flexible working style; ability to switch gears at light speed and thrive in an agile environment
  • Able to collaborate and build working relationships across various teams
  • Not afraid to ask questions as well as to challenge assumptions and intuitions

Education required:

  • BA/BS  in related disciplines (including analytics, statistics, mathematics, sciences, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Preferred: Master's Degree in related discipline, analytics, statistics, mathematics, sciences, etc.
  • Professional experience required: 2+ years or equivalent combination of master's degree and work related experience
