Data Engineering Manager - Infrastructure

About the Role :
We are looking for an experienced data engineer who has expertise and in depth knowledge of managing the data infrastructure in a cloud environment. In this role, you will be required to lead a small team of two Data Engineers and create a reliable infrastructure for Gojek Payments and Financial Services. In order to succeed in this role, you should have a product mindset along with a strong vision of automating and creating a scalable data infrastructure.

What will you do?

• Design and implement a highly scalable infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
• Implement secure networks by following the best practices of Information & Network Security
• Manage and mentor a data engineering infrastructure team 
• Oversee containerization and deployment of microservices on Kubernetes
• Manage the auto-scaling and monitoring performances of the Infrastructure using Prometheus and Grafana, or similar tools
• Define the service level objectives of each component and take the ownership of achieving those SLOs
• Create and maintain system reliability and availability reports
• Set up Infrastructure as a code using Terraform and Chef

What we are looking for?

• At least 8-11 years of experience  with experience in running large-scale distributed computing infrastructure in a cloud environment along with demonstrated ability to take initiative and accountability of achieving results
• In depth experience of containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes
• Visionary in technical architecture, with experience in building and maintaining the Data Engineering Infrastructure along with demonstrated ability to take accountability for achieving results
• Experience in automating Infrastructure deployment using Terraform and Chef/Ansible on a cloud platform like GCPExperience in managing and running large-scale distributed computing infrastructure such as Kafka, Zookeeper, Flink Cluster or any other tool
• Experience in working with the Agile methodologies, Test Driven Development and implementing the CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab and Docker
• Deep technical knowledge of Google Cloud Platform or any other cloud environment
• Experience in building infrastructure monitoring capabilities using Prometheus/InfluxDB and Grafana
• Experience in designing and implementing standards, specifications and procedures
