Senior Data Engineer

About the role

As UBDS continues to flourish, we are looking to bring some further expertise to our Data Services practice.

You will be able to transform business needs into technical solutions & deliver high quality data solutions to not only meet but surpass our clients expectations. You will be Can work with industry recognised patterns, as well being adaptable to design and building innovative complex data solutions

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative data engineering solutions to help achieve stunning outcomes for internal and external stakeholders
• Develop data analytics dashboards and reports working on high profile projects with our ever growing portfolio of clients
• Helping clients realise the potential of Data Science, Machine Learning, and scaled processing within Microsoft Azure
• Mentoring junior team members and supporting their personal development
• Taking ownership for the delivery of core solution components
• Constantly developing technical skills using the latest technology
• Working directly with clients to understand requirements and presenting solutions to customer sponsors
• Influencing and supporting project delivery through involvement in project/sprint planning and QA
• Strong communication skills

About You

• Strong technical expertise using core Microsoft Azure data technologies: Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse
• A strong background in Python development, particularly for data engineering, and SQL
• Experience working with Power BI: Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service
• Experience with Azure databases (Synapse EDW, SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Data Modelling & Schema
• Excellent documentation skills
• Worked within / strong understanding of DevOps
