What you’ll do

In a few words…

Abarca is igniting a revolution in healthcare.  We built our company on the belief that with smarter technology we are redefining pharmacy benefits, but this is just the beginning.

You’re passionate for data and its possibilities! As a Data Engineer you’ll incorporate many of your strengths and interests. You may as well know that other people would be working with you and sometimes, they will insist on getting to know you and developing friendly and productive working relationships. Moreover, you’ll have to use your skills, develop new ones, and rise to challenges. It’s quite awesome!

What would you be doing? Well, as a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for complex designs and the development and delivery of data solutions between operational systems and databases, data warehouse, downstream data marts as well as files. You will implement optimized designs to meet the operational performance requirements for our solutions and products. This includes the implementation of a sound architecture by following development standards. We’ll also rely on you to share your technical knowledge with other team members.

  • Perform peer code reviews and make recommendations (this is where collaboration with your crew comes into play!)
  • Provide operational support and maintenance.
  • Challenge express your opinion of existing solutions to find “Better Ways” that will result in increased quality, improvements and scalable solutions.
  • Participate in development and execution of unit and system test plans.

  • Guide, inspire and drive your peers to success at the technical level.

  • Coding experience in development languages and frameworks such as Java, C#, .NET Core, JDK and JavaScript.
  • You must be familiar with data warehouse and ETL/ELT concepts such as: dimensions and fact tables, loading and staging environments, database normalization levels and design patterns schema types.

  • Experience working with any major RDMS such as MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, etc.
  • You should be customer-service oriented and have a knack for critical and analytical thinking.
  • You must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment, and eager to learn.
  • You should also be able to communicate effectively.

That something extra we´d love to see…

  • Analytical: You value the power of context & enjoy examining the past. You understand the present by analyzing events leading up to it. This method of cold and calculated thinking helps you get things done when everyone else freaks out.
  • Assertive: You are self-possessed and trusting of your ability to run things correctly. An inner compass guides you and fills you with the feeling you are making the right decisions. You stand out as a humbly confident individual, which some interpret as thinking very highly of yourself.  You’ll be the first one to agree with that interpretation.
  • Driven: You know how to juggle/manage multiple priorities without missing deadlines. You measure yourself against everyone and strive to win first place in everything.
