About The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to build, lead and manage a team of data engineers and analysts working on building scalable data and analytics solutions. This role is a great fit for candidates with several years of software engineering experience delivering and building on data pipelines, warehouses, and analytics tools. This person will participate in architecture and design discussions, own end-to-end solution delivery, stakeholder management, partner with platform engineering, collaborate with other engineering teams, and will guide and mentor data engineers. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, proven data design and implementation capabilities, good eye for business, and a highly developed drive to deliver results. The person in this role will be technically proficient and excel at collaborating with engineers, analysts, and partners. They will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Technology & Product.

Responsibilities:

  • Use your knowledge of Data Architecture to build data stores for critical product features such as clinical outcome based care & monitoring, machine augmented clinical documentation, care coordination, clinical learning, automated consumer outreach, telemedicine, consumer self-scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the technical team in architecture & design discussions to process & store high volume data sets.
  • Contribute to all aspects of data engineering from ingestion, transformation, and consumption in addition to designing and building test-driven development, reusable frameworks, automated workflows, and libraries at scale to support analytics products.
  • Uphold high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases and processes you will encounter.
  • Be 100% remote. Work from anywhere; your office is wherever you are

Requirements

  • 10+ years relevant work experience in the Data Engineering field
  • 4+ years experience in leading and managing engineering teams
  • 4+ years experience in building efficient & secure data stores in the cloud (AWS) and in cloud ETL processes.
  • 4+ years experience working with Hadoop and Big Data processing frameworks (Spark, Hive, Nifi, Spark-Streaming, Flink, etc.)
  • 2+ years experience building scalable, real-time and high-performance cloud data lake solutions
  • Solid experience with relational SQL and programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and related CI/CD processes
  • Experience working with Big Data streaming services such as Kinesis, Kafka, etc
  • Experience working with NoSQL data stores such as HBase, DynamoDB, etc
  • Experience provisioning RESTful API’s to enable real-time data consumption
  • Experience working in AWS environment primarily EMR, S3, Kinesis, Redshift, Athena, etc
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses & RDBMS solutions.
  • Experience with workflow scheduling tools like Airflow
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, data architecture, and technical designs
  • A passion for improving the mental healthcare experience.
  • An understanding of the business impact of projects you build and the ability to prioritize projects by balancing between craft, speed, and the bottom line.
  • A track record of strong ownership, initiative, tenacity, integrity, and humility.
  • Placing a high value on collaboration, knowing that we can be better as a team than as individuals.
