Our contribution to society includes reducing congestion and pollution, zero emissions deliveries, increasing the quality of life for residents, empowering seniors and disabled people, and enabling affordable delivery for local businesses. Every day our delivery robots are completing thousands of autonomous deliveries and hitting records on an almost weekly basis. The Data Platform team helps data guide the way by providing a quality user experience for all data users across the org. As a Data Engineer you will be instrumental in identifying and solving scaling bottlenecks proactively. This includes creating observability and reliability, working with petabyte scale data and collaborating with teams across the whole data lifecycle within Starship.
Please note, this position is based in Estonia, but we are offering full relocation support to a successful candidate.

In this role, you will get to…

  • Help design the data architecture that scales to tens of thousands of robots delivering goods 24x7 and advise data users on best practices
  • Enhance visibility, monitoring and alerting throughout our stack (Spark/Databricks, Kafka, Airflow, AWS, Tableau, more to come)
  • Ensure observability of the production environment. From simple metrics and dashboards to custom attribution and lineage

To be set up for success, you would ideally have experience with:

  • Have solid understanding of operating systems, networks, databases and distributed systems. You know what makes it tick
  • Formidable experience in a related role
  • Skills in SQL, scripting, building robust data pipelines, monitoring solutions
  • An active interest in the world of data engineering
