The Team: You will join a small, but dedicated, Config/Discovery team that is responsible to ensure our CMDB/CI’s health metrics are kept current and updated in our ServiceNow CMDB through daily discovery jobs and discovery/MID server configuration best practices. Our CMDB Data Analyst is in India. This position would add to our India team to help support round the clock data quality remediation efforts to maintain current and accurate data. You will be reporting to our Principal Infrastructure Engineer in India and heavily involved in daily updates with the team here in the U.S.

Job Description Summary: The CMDB Data analyst is the data specialist and validator of the CMDB. They are responsible for collecting, verifying, updating, and reporting on the data in the CMDB, as well as identifying and resolving any data quality issues or gaps. The CMDB analyst needs to have strong data management, data analysis, and data visualization skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and accuracy This position is part of the CMDB/Discovery team. The Data Analyst plays a key role in maintaining critical platforms to enable the IT team to successfully plan changes and manage incidents in the environment along with maintaining an accurate CMDB.

Responsibilities:

  • Review the data being populated into the CMDB and act as partial owner of the CMDB
  • Strong to Exceptional ServiceNow CMDB skills
  • Familiarity with ITSM process that consume CMDB data e.g., Incident, Problem, Change, Asset (ITAM)
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Ability to generate reports and KPI’s
  • Excellent collaboration, customer service, and communication skills for a multi-team environment
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Solution orientated mindset to look for current and future opportunities to improve process, platform, and data remediation
  • Create/Maintain relationships with business stakeholders to successfully manage and maintain divisional data integrity
  • Support organizational requirements
  • Conduct CMDB audits and remediation activities
  • Maintain Cis to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and maintain documentation of CMDB and data best practices

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with ServiceNow CMDB data quality and analysis
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with ServiceNow reporting capabilities and report generation
  • Deep understanding of Workflows and database view creation
  • Minimum of 5 years working in large scale configuration management databases or related IT organization
  • Experience working with discovery tools such as horizontal discovery, ACC, and Tanium highly desirable
  • Experience integrating with tools to federate data into a CMDB
  • Deep understanding of CMDB concepts, data quality and data gap remediation
  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow CSDM concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Good interpersonal skills, including collaboration, communication, relationship building, and negotiation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools; Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Familiarity with network concepts (routers, switches, firewalls)
