The team is committed to building the next generation big data platform that will be the world class finance data warehouse to support Flex's rapidly growing and dynamic market and use it to power Machine Learning & deliver BI applications which will have an immediate influence on user experience & day-to-day decision making. Flex has a culture of data-driven decision-making, and demands data that is timely, accurate and actionable. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement and maintain high quality online/office/near-line data infrastructure service, such as Kafka, Logging service, Data access layer, and Data lake to support all teams in Flex
  • Significant, practical software engineering experience building fault tolerant, distributed, scalable, and secure applications that are easy to support and extend 
  • Create efficient scalable real-time streaming pipelines and off-line ETL pipelines
  • Continuously improving data operations: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
  • Design, implement, and support a platform providing secured access to large datasets
  • Sound judgment, relevant data, and an open mind to help you and the team navigate together when the way forward isn’t clear 
  • Stewarding technical standards and quality
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Tune application and query performance using profiling tools and SQL
  • Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources to continually improve data quality

What We’re Looking For:

  • Professional 2+ years of industry and academic experiences in a quantitative role
  • Advanced proficiency with Python and SQL. Highly skilled in either Java or TypeScript/Node.js or both
  • Expert in big data platforms and tooling (Snowflake, Kafka, Luigi, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Cassandra, Airflow, etc)
  • You must be comfortable working with relational and no sql databases in a production environment
  • Familiarity with one of the major cloud vendor services.  Experience in using Lambda, Step Functions, RDS, EKS, EMR, etc. We use AWS a lot but we're sure your knowledge will translate.
  • Strong fundamentals of data structures, algorithms and design patterns
  • Passion and intellectual curiosity for the FinTech domain
  • Comfortable in working in ambiguous, fast-paced and high-growth dynamic environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to take ownership of meeting with cross-functional team leads on a regular basis 

Preferred Experience:

  • AWS experience
  • Infrastructure as Code experience via CDK and/or Terraform
