The Credit Solutions Domain

The credit domain empowers users with better cash flow and ensures they can rely on Pleo for their most critical spending needs. The domain aims to create end-to-end ownership of Credit products and capabilities. We own the design of credit products, risk and financial appetite, revenue model, and infrastructure that is required to deliver it. 

By learning from customers’ spending behaviours, we can predict when a customer needs credit at the moment, which is most needed by companies. It also allows us to set the credit terms that fit best their needs. We see Credit both as a product and as a set of capabilities that will help us unlock more value in other products across Pleo.

• Work with a modern data & analytics toolkit including Kafka, BigQuery, dbt, Looker, Fivetran, Segment, & Amplitude.

What Great Looks Like In This Role

• You are a pioneer for Data Science at Pleo; decide on a methodology for building machine learning models that help us predict the future (e.g., are we going to offer a credit product to the right customer)
• You are a key contributor to developing Pleo’s first credit risk models to accommodate our growth and risk aspirations 
• You think outside the box and have identified and assessed different data sources(internal and external) to use to improve the predictive power of your models
• You are an ambassador for excellence within the Data & Analytics community, you lead by example, share your knowledge, and inspire others.

Your Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the domain to help develop state-of-the-art credit solutions for our customer base
• Understand and identify data sources across Pleo, both driven by internal data to Pleo or external data which is or could be made available for building models
• Be a key part of the development of automated tools for risk management;
• Evaluate and build an effective data inputs from internal and external data sources for automating and improving credit decisions, monitoring, and reporting;
• Ensure adequate controls, monitoring, and testing programs are in place;
• Monitor the performance of our risk performance and decision making, focusing on long-term strategy to improve decisions within Credit

• Have excellent hands-on knowledge of SQL + Python/R and experience with more advanced analytics topics such as cohort and regression analysis
• Are an expert in product analytics
• Are experienced with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Looker or similar
• Communicate with clarity and empathy on insights and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders for decision making
• Are an authentic leader and a role model for radical candour
• Have an eye for details and quality is more important for you than speed
