CSA is seeking experienced Data Scientists to join the San Diego team supporting NAVWAR/PEO C4I program offices.  This impactful position directly supports the US Navy’s mission readiness.
The Data Scientist selected for this position will develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.  
This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. 
  • Applies data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets. 
  • Visualizes, interprets, and reports data findings. 
  • Creates dynamic data reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science or Mathematics from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with the full data science lifecycle, including problem definition/hypothesis formulation, data capture and preparation, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model selection, training and evaluation, presentation of results to both technical and nontechnical audiences, and model deployment and sustainment.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in statistics, probability, data engineering, feature engineering, predictive modeling, machine learning including models for clustering, classification, time series analysis, logistic regression and classification, linear and polynomial regression, python programming, and data visualization.
  • Three (3) years’ experience with the following libraries, tools and programming languages: Python, R, Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow/Keras, Jupyter Notebook, RStudio, Tableau, Git and Cloud Services (incl. AWS, Azure). 
  • Experience with software integration or testing, including analyzing and implementing test plans and scripts.
  • Experience with frequent scripting language use, such as Python and R and using packages commonly used in data science applications or advanced analytics
  • Experience with data science, data mining, statistics, or graph algorithms to support analytics objectives.
  • Experience applying Structured Query Language (SQL), Non Structured Query Language (NoSQL), Application Program Interface (API) Building, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines, Web Application Servers, or Search Index.
  • Experience using programming languages and products such as Python, Jupyter Notebook, Pandas, Numpy, Requests, or Antigravity.
  • Experience applying complex mathematical and statistical concepts.
  • Experience applying statistical and operations research methods and tools.
  • Experience employing spreadsheets for data manipulation and visualization.
  • Ability to explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources with the goal of drawing conclusions to address business problems.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical concepts to assigned duties.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and data mining skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with artificial intelligence including deep learning desired.
  • Experience with data extract and manipulation from legacy, relational (SQL) database systems desired.
