Job location: Our office is in (Ottawa) AND (Toronto), but, you can be Anywhere in Canada (REMOTE)

About the team

We are a software engineering team focusing on Big Data and AI on cloud within Kinaxis. Working closely with our fellow Data Engineers and Data Scientists for our customers across the globe on Supply Chain AI, we transform innovative AI solutions into AI platform that scale, yet simple to maintain and understand. Data is our obsession as it is the foundation AI. Functional Programming is our passion and our engineering discipline as it allows us to organize and simplify solutions with mathematical elegance. We continuously incorporate ever-expanding cloud tools and innovative methodologies to our mission.

What you will do

• Continuously build and maintain the platform around AI that can scale and simplify solutions.
• Design and shape AI platform through your vision with our team.
• Organize and conduct design sessions and code reviews.
• Participate agile rituals such as pair programming, backlog refinements and retrospectives.
• Effectively communicate technical and product knowledge to stakeholders at various levels such as engineers, product managers, engineer managers, architects, and upper management
• Listen to our fellow Data Engineers and Data Scientists and identify gaps

Must haves

• Strong software engineering knowledge and discipline
• Proficiency in Functional Programming Language e.g. Scala, Clojure or Haskell
• Experience in leading and maintaining large scale application
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for big data and software engineering

Nice to haves

• Experience in processing large volume of data processing (e.g. Spark, Flink or Kafka).
• ETL and data warehouse/lake experience
• Cloud (Azure, GCP or AWS) Experience
• Knowledge in Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and Terraform
