This team in Oppo Research Center (Seattle) focuses on research and development of key mobile intelligence and advanced technologies (features, products, platforms), which supports to deliver to the current year or the future years’ flagship phones and products.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype and develop mobile intelligence features, products and platform in consumer highly interested domains including: entertainment, social, work, travel and general user experience.
  • Develop and prototype advanced technologies in the domain of computer vision, computer graphics, and machine learning
  • Fabricate and prototype new hardwares with innovation to support related tasks when necessary
  • Collaborate with engineering and research team to deliver production ready features and products.
  • Collaborate with external teams across countries and time zones.

Requirements


  • Minimum Requirements Must be Satisfied
    • For Scientists, obtained a PhD Degree in EECS, or a similar discipline. Or approaching to obtain the degree. For engineers, obtained or approaching at least a master degree in similar disciplines.
    • Experience with camera system and image processing
      • camera&camera array, CMOS sensor and Lens, IR projector, depth sensing, depth and image sensor performance metrics, and integration into camera systems.
      • research and development of sensing, optics, imaging, or depth systems technologies for consumer applications.
      • Experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design with emphasis on front-end analog circuits and/or data converters, electro-optical characterization of imaging solutions and/or sensor functional validation (analog and logic). Led microcontroller like arduino
    • Or Experience with camera control and 3D computer vision
      • 3D reconstruction,3D photography, view synthesis, disparity estimation, multi-camera/multi-frame fusion, etc.
      • Camera automatic control algorithm development(i.e. auto white balance, auto focus, auto exposure, auto flicker detection/correction, video stabilization, auto scene detection)
      • Experience with at least one category of: Multi-view geometry, Photometric Stereo, Calibration and Alignment, Registration, Stereo Vision, Deep Learning, Image and Video quality
    • Strong C++ and python developing skills to develop software/firmware/scripts for validation, characterization, and prototyping.
    • Publication records in related domains for the scientist role.


Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in computer vision with camera, CMOS & Lens experiences, 3D reconstruction, Deep Learning & its application, or related processing techniques
  • 3+ years proven academic or industry experience after graduation, in at least one of the following areas: multi-camera systems, computer vision, machine learning/deep learning, image and video processing, computational photography, and video quality, Camera 3A, or in shipping related products to customers.
  • Interested in camera and photography hardware and tools, for the applications in computational photography, 3D reconstruction, VR and multi-media post-processing.
  • Familiar and practical working experiences on OpenCV, Eigen, GPU shaders, ROS. Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or related deep learning frameworks
  • Interested to work with devices and hardware, with FPGA and microcontroller experience
  • Publication records for the Scientist position in CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, Siggraph, ICCP, NIPS, ICML, PAMI, IJCV, AAAI, IJCAI, TOG, TVCG, TIP, ICIP, ACM MM etc. is a plus.
