Control Risks is looking for a Data Scientist to support our client’s Fraud & Piracy program. The data scientist’s role will involve querying and analyzing large amounts of complex and disparate data to derive insights, interpret business needs, and create data solutions that help solve issues both known and unknown. The successful candidate will have direct experience working with data science techniques, statistical modeling, and machine learning concepts.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Investigative data analysis, pulling and reconciling data across multiple systems
  • Building SOPs for gathering data and searching specific systems
  • Regular control monitoring report resolutions
  • Trade quality control reviews and enhancements
  • Review and analyze potential sanctions hits while maintaining compliance requirements
  • Use individual problem-solving and analytical skills to authenticate customers

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of Data Science Experience, Statistical Modeling, and Machine learning concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • The ability to adapt in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Advanced MS SQL Server based analysis skills, in addition to experience with Python or R
  • ETL, Complex Joins, Functions, Stored Procedures, Loops
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.)
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data to detect deficient controls, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies
  • Experience assessing data integrity (completeness, accuracy, explaining impact of data integrity on decisions/assumptions)
  • Experience examining and evaluating processes and information systems, recommending controls to ensure reliability and data integrity
