Why This Role is Important to Arcadia As a manager in Arcadia’s Data Integration function, responsible for leading integration projects involving the deployment of a next generation connectivity fabric for healthcare systems, payers, and communities, enabling population health metrics reporting on a continually updated data asset that powers success in value-based care.  Ingestion and Integration of data sources include outbound feeds from Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Health Level 7 specifications (HL7), Electronic Data Interchange billing records (EDI), Clinical Document Architecture (CDA), direct extracts from Electronic Health Record (EHR) databases and flat file packages from EHRs and Payer systems.  Our data integration team is highly specialized in understanding the technical architecture of each framework and coding the right mapping logic to bring in a robust, accurate representation of client data that can talk to each other.  This team is responsible for powering the Arcadia population health management platform that aggregates rich, useful data fielded with great skill and accuracy.
What You'll Be DoingDesign, Implementation and Operations of Data Integration pipelines (connectors)•       Managing projects involving the integration of data from the backend of EHR and Claims files, creating a trusted dataset including claims and clinical data which then flows into the Arcadia web platform to be mined for analytics•       Ingesting source data in the form of text files, fixed width definition reports, csv, HL7, EDI, CDA and CMS file formats into the Scylla data lake using Groovy code and regular expressions•       Understanding of the Scylla Lake architecture to correct and remediate for accidental file drops and clean-ups•       Data discovery on client schema and identification of tables and columns that contain clinical information essential for measures and quality reporting•       Coding transformations and computations using Spark Scala code to transform data to the product schema Scylla Lake•       Unit testing code against a scala test library for dependency checks and completeness•       Utilizing Kafka queues for streaming messages (HL7, CDA, EDI) and design XSLT mappings for transformation•       Understanding and communicating limitations of connector infrastructure, providing insight on connector design calls, and performing and managing Data Quality assessment to ensure quality before load to product warehouse•       Designing processes to identify patterns in triage issues and come up with process improvements to correct issue at source•       Designing and overseeing the migration of legacy Microsoft SQL code to the Arcadia Big data platform•       Serving as the focal point for internal and external escalation for all things data integration Practice Development and Thought leadership•       Teaching, mentoring, and building the industry knowledge and technical skill set (Amazon AWS, S3, Spark SQL, DCOS, Zeppelin notebooks, Zookeeper, Kibana, Kafka, and Scylla) of the data integration team inside the organization to remain on the cutting edge of expertise within the healthcare space.•       Working with an internal cross functional team to organize, prioritize, and manage the implementation of hundreds of data feeds annually across our national client base.•       Partnering with product management and engineers to continue to build on our data integration platform and expand the data sets, use case, and infrastructure capabilities of our big data stack.•       Serving as a thought leader within the organization and in the industry for healthcare data integration.•       Supporting the sales and account management teams in technical data integration discussions and strategy sessions
Please note that this is a project management and team lead role that does not have direct reports.
What You’ll Bring Position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field and 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer in the healthcare field.  Position also requires 5 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the prior experience requirement above) working with the following:·      Common healthcare data protocols including HL7, EDI X12, claims adjudication process and FHIR;·      Resolving complex data integration challenges and working with value based care data sets (Adjudicated Claims, EMR/Clinical data and SDOH);·      Distributed cloud computing and Big Data technologies (Spark, NIFI, AWS);·      MS SQL, Apache Nifi, Talend, IBM InfoSphere, TIBCO, Pentaho or Informatica ELK (ElasticSearch/Logstash/Kibana), Spark, Storm or Kafka, Tableau, QlikView, Apache Zeppelin, IPython or Jupyter and Git;·      Claims adjustment and processing including Claims submission process, Claims adjudication process and working with data required or expected within claims data including EDI 834, 837, 835 transactions. About ArcadiaArcadia.io helps innovative healthcare systems and health plans around the country transform healthcare to reduce cost while improving patient health.   We do this by aggregating massive amounts of clinical and claims data, applying algorithms to identify opportunities to provide better patient care, and making those opportunities actionable by physicians at the point of care in near-real time.  We are passionate about helping our customers drive meaningful outcomes. This position is responsible for following all Security policies and procedures in order to protect all PHI under Arcadia's custodianship as well as Arcadia Intellectual Properties.  For any security-specific roles, the responsibilities would be further defined by the hiring manager.
