Copy.ai is a remote company. All employees must be able to work 9am-5pm in any timezone Pacific to Eastern. At this time, we are only hiring full-time roles in the USA and Canada.
Copy.ai continues to scale, and we are ready to bring on our 1st Data Scientist to join our newly formed Machine Learning Team. Reporting directly to our Head of Machine Learning, our Data Scientist will be a passionate and data-driven expert who will partner closely with internal stakeholders to work with state of the art models and solve open-ended problems and business challenges in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) space. Aside from training models and applying advanced statistical methods to innovate our product, we are looking for someone who isn’t afraid to take risks and experiment. What you'll do:

• Partner closely with the Data and Engineering teams to do initial research, develop functional prototypes, and carry it through to production
• Brainstorm creative ideas to conduct fast and reliable online experiments to test our hypotheses.
• Apply advanced statistical methods to innovative our product and continuously solve problems
• Translate real-world problems into well-posed data science questions with product-oriented goals
• Identify and train models and algorithms to discover innovative approaches to solve product challenges and improve operational efficiency
• Build, implement, and test your concepts in Jupyter notebooks, and Python, using large-scale data sets.
• Evangelize a data-driven culture

About you; You are:

• 2+ years of experience in delivering machine learning models to production
• Proficient with standard SQL and relational databases, and Python and its relevant packages
• Understanding of statistics and machine learning; understanding of complexity vs. performance tradeoff in these systems
• An effective communicator meaning you can break down very technical concepts and data to various audiences both technical and non-technical.
• Passionate about data, experimentation, and PLG-startups
• Experience working with engineers and product managers to launch successful software products
• Preferably you have a Masters or Ph.D. or advanced degree in a related field
