Software Development Engineer - AI/ML , AWS AI

Job summary

We continuously work on adding new services to our portfolio, which address real world problems through research and innovation. We build state-of-the-art services using the latest deep learning techniques and highly scalable distributed systems engineering.

As a SDE, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying distributed machine learning systems and large-scale solutions for our world-wide customer base. In this, you will collaborate closely with a team of ML scientists to influence our overall strategy and define the team’s road map. You will also drive the system architecture, spearhead best practices that enable a quality product, and help coach and develop junior engineers. A successful candidate will have an established background in engineering large scale software systems, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

Basic qualifications
1+ years of professional software development experience
1+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
1+ years of software development experience
1+ years of distributed systems experience
Preferred qualifications
Masters or PhD in Computer Science
3+ years of relevant software development experience
1+ years of Machine Learning experience
Experience with deep learning systems will be a big plus

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.

• BS in Computer Science or related field
• 1+ year experience writing C/C++ on an embedded platform
• Experience with multithreaded programming.

Preferred Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with running inference runtimes on embedded platforms
• Experience making optimization trade-offs for Machine Learning operations on various processors

This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.
