Ardent is seeking a Data Analyst to join our team.

This is an on-site role in Washington, DC.

This position is for a junior to mid-level Data Analyst to join Ardent’s Data Science & Analytics practice, working on a contract for a the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). You will be helping CISA share data and intelligence with the private sector to protect the private and public sector from cybersecurity attacks.

Responsibilities

  • Direct contract support to CISA and our partner firms
    • Data Warehouse Analyst: Design, implement and support data warehousing. Implement business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies. Define user interfaces and functional specifications.
  • DSA Practice
    • Use business intelligence software tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Esri to create dashboards, data visualizations, run queries/reports, and analyze large datasets on behalf of enterprise clients
    • Serve as a ‘data journalist’ and lead data analyst to uncover data insights, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis across wide range of domains and applications and make it actionable: intelligence, law enforcement/investigative support, financial/econ data, GIS data, public safety, infrastructure, business performance/operations metrics, etc.
    • Serve as data analytics consultant, advising govt clients on how best to utilize their agency data; assist with business development efforts as needed
    • Assist with creation of various AI/ML models and algorithms using data science tools/process/methods to ingest multiple sources of structured and unstructured data to tackle public safety-related problems
    • Perform deep dives and ETL of data sources to combine and transform data from multiple sources and domains to discover novel and actionable insights
    • Participate in full data lifecycle: collect, clean, prepare, ETL, analyze/exploit, model, and QC data; find new ways to automate this work
    • Continuously scan for and learn about new datasets and data science methodologies that will improve our services for our clients or enhance our technology products

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, MIS, engineering, sciences, operations research, data science, statistics, applied math; or Master’s in similar or MBA
  • We are open to work experience or certifications or proven quantitative analysis skills (Github profile) in lieu of STEM degree
    • Data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI
    • Coding: Python, R
  • Able to receive pass CISA Suitability screening
  • Recent experience in military, government cybersecurity operations, or Intelligence Community a plus
  • Strong software development and coding ability (front end, databases, ETL) a plus
  • Self-starter who takes the initiative; creative problem-solver; likes business challenges, change, and learning new skills
