Senior Data Scientist - Forecasting

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Forecasting team. This individual will drive the development of ground breaking models to predict Spotify’s future user and financial growth. The output of your models will serve as the basis for the company’s financial forecast and provide context for business performance to internal and external partners. Your work will also help the team build a time series forecasting models and infrastructure that can be used throughout the company.
In addition to possessing a proven technical background, the ideal candidate will be a natural communicator who can explain complex statistical frameworks to business and engineering teams. We also strongly prefer candidates with previous experience in analyzing and forecasting time series. Accompanying this broad set of responsibilities is exposure to many functional areas and senior management across Spotify.

What you'll do

• Take a leading role in producing Spotify’s public-facing user and financial growth forecasts every quarter.
• Enrich the suite of our forecasting models by researching and implementing innovative technologies in ML models for time series forecasting.
• Develop end-to-end products for forecasting Spotify’s growth following software engineering best practices.
• Build ML models to forecast operational and financial metrics in order to ultimately predict Spotify's gross profit.

Who you are

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, or another quantitative field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, particularly in forecasting time series using Python, SQL, and/or R.
• Strong mathematical and statistical understanding of models for time series forecasting.
• Previous industry experience with frameworks like Tensorflow and data pipeline tools like Apache Beam, Scio, etc., and cloud platforms like GCP or AWS are a plus.
