As a Data Scientist, You Will:

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging various domain data to drive business solutions.
  • Mine and analyze data from various data lakes, data hubs, data warehouse, databases etc., to drive optimization and improvement of product development, and business strategies.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences and other business outcomes.
  • Develop cloud-based AI/ML framework and test model quality.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy (suggest of removing data).
  • Participate in an Agile development environment.

To Be Successful, You Need:

  • 5-7 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
  • Possess a Master’s or PHD degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field
  • Familiarity with the following software/tools:
    • Coding knowledge and experience with several machine learning engineering languages, such as R, Python, SageMaker & AI/ML GUI tools
    • Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.
    • Experience using web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, etc.
    • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
    • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.
    • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: D3, ggplot, graph DB, Tableau, Quicksights, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
  • Professional experience optimizing machine learning workflows and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with big data platforms (Hadoop / Cloudera, Cloud, etc.) and machine learning technologies (SparkML, AWS SageMaker, Tensorflow etc.).
  • Experience with version control (Git), issue tracking (Jira), and code reviews
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and drawing insights from large data sets.
  • Experience creating new, experimental frameworks to collect data.
  • Knowledge of various machine learning techniques (regression, clustering, decision tree learning, neural networks, xai, etc.) and their pros and cons of real-world applications.
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and hands-on experience on applying that knowledge on applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
  • Ability to clearly document operational procedures and solution designs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and expectations
  • To be comfortable performing your job duties from a remote work location while supporting a banking/financial institution that is based on the west coast. Should you reside in the eastern half of the US, flexibility in your work schedule is required considering the differing time zones.
