⚡️ Your mission

We strongly believe that data holds the key to unlock innovation in social care. It is the foundation of how we learn as a company as well as how we enable our customers to improve their services.

Our applications and services generate a wealth of rich data - it is essential that we're able to process, analyse and deliver as much of it as possible to improve the lives of older adults.

You will maintain and improve our next-generation data platform, enabling Birdie services to exchange data in real-time - allowing product squads to quickly develop features building on information captured by other services. Your efforts will also give product managers and designers the ability to analyse and improve how users interact with Birdie products.

You’ll be working in the Data and Analytics team, within the Internal Platform flock. You’ll also be working closely with all product squads to make sure that the right data is available at the right time to solve real customer problems.

This role will report into our Head of Platform.

🦸‍♀️ How you will contribute

Maintain and improve our data architecture using the right technologies to solves todays problems as well as the problems Birdie will face over the next 18 months:

  • Birdie’s data footprint double every quarter so we need to use scalable technologies to ensure data remains readily accessible for our customers as well as Birdie employees
  • Our product architecture is becoming increasingly decentralised - it’s crucial that product services are able to reliable share data sets amongst each other in real time

Build data infrastructure, tools and documentation - enabling product squads to:

  • Dramatically reduce time taken to source, process, model and public datasets
  • Improve the accuracy, reliability and re-usability of datasets

Other areas of contribute will include:

  • Help to maintain and scale a resilient architecture to store & exchange data with multiple providers in the healthcare industry;
  • Implement, maintain, and scale our data pipelines - for both third party and internal sources;
  • Develop production grade data models for consumption both internally and by Birdie customers;
  • Document your design choices; produce enough documentation so that someone else can maintain and improve your codebase;
  • Drive improvement across Birdie, collaborating where appropriate to continuously improve the products and services we offer;
  • Automate everything!
