Sr. Data Engineer

The performance analytics team is currently searching for a talented Senior Data Engineer who will work hard and help us develop the next generation of Fluent’s technologies. Responsibilities:

• Build on development and efficiency tactics for Data Lake Environment (AWS)
• Design and implement scalable ETL or ELT processes to support the business demand for data
• Perform data extraction, manipulation, and production from database tables
• Function as the solution lead for building the data pipelines to support Reporting and Data Science groups - this could include building (1) data provisioning frameworks, (2) data integration into the data lake, archival stores, data marts, and other analytical repositories
• Support 100+ daily processes - Work to resolve operational & performance issues
• Collaborate with analytics team to find reliable data solutions to meet the business needs
• Work with other partners across the organization to help capture new data sources
• Ensure quality solutions are implemented, and engineering best practices are defined and adhered to

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Information Systems/Information Technology
• Master’s degree in Information Technology /Computer Science is a plus
• 5+ years of experience in the following: SQL
• 5+ years of experience in the following: Python (Lambdas, Pandas, Numpy, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure - AWS preferred
• 2+ years of experience in ETL and data engineering using Python, AWS Glue, or PySpark
• 3+ years of experience in Agile practices
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Experience working with and creating data architectures
• Experience in various Operating Systems
• Experience in Batch, Near Real Time and Real Time Data integration
• Troubleshoot and correct system issues using database logs, connectivity tests, etc
• Experience in designing Data Models and Forward Engineering Databases
• Ability to evaluate current database design and technology and recommend improvements and influence strategy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting, reporting, and presenting
