About the team
Data team at Postman acts as a central hub for asking analysis questions. We are a small team of engineers and analysts who believe in impact driven work.
We believe in democratisation of data and work towards building data products so that decision making through data is as self-served as possible.
We are major supporters of knowledge distribution, be it factual or philosophical. We don't shy away from getting our hands dirty whenever it comes to anything data.

Responsibilities

As an analytics engineer you would be sitting at the intersection of business and product teams, analysts and data engineers - partnering with them to gain business/product context, identify analytics requirements and address gaps in our infrastructure to enable them better.

Help build and maintain the analytics layer of our team’s data environment (dbt) to make data standardized, extensible and easily accessible. You would be ensuring that data models are built for scale with growing data volume and business use-cases.

Provide data modeling expertise to analytics model contributors through code reviews and knowledge sharing to help deliver optimal, DRY, and scalable database designs and queries in Redshift.

Partner with both analytics and data engineering teams to improve the overall data team’s workflow, driving effective use of time and resources.

Support company-wide efforts to to improve transparency and automation around data quality, availability, performance and governance.
Requirements

2 to 5 years of experience designing and building reliable, scalable and maintainable data systems.

Proficiency in SQL, able to write structured and efficient queries in large data sets. Working proficiency in Python.

Used a transformation framework, like dbt, to integrate complex data across different systems. Experience designing data stores to power BI platforms (like Looker) is a plus.

Experience and strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, database table design and analytics platforms.

You have a strong product mindset and have experience in analytical problem solving and building analytics solutions in previous roles.
